Will Frank

Statement

Since receiving my BA in English from the University of Dallas in 2006, I have worked for Emil Frei Stained Glass in Saint Louis. I have spent the last three years restoring, cutting, and designing stained glass across the country with Emil Frei. When not working on projects for our clients, I continue to further my own art.

My work concerns the relationship between geometry and the natural form. I place natural images within a geometric framework, creating a harmony of forms. Composition is geometrical, and organic images break into abstraction. The slope of a hill, the twist in a twig; the angle at which a tree raises, where its branches extend, and where it has a knot—these details invite contemplation. My images are precise and deliberate: I combine realism with aberrations into the imaginative.

The Graduate School of Architecture & Urban Design ranks sixth among America's Best Architecture & Design Schools, according to the 10th annual America's Best Architecture Schools study by Design Intelligence.

The survey ranks accredited undergraduate and graduate programs from the perspective of leading practitioners. Conducted in mid-2008, it tapped professional practice leaders who have had direct experience in the hiring and performance evaluation of recent architecture and design graduates.

More than 200 leading firms were queried about which college and university programs have best prepared students for professional practice. This is the third straight year Washington University's Graduate School of Architecture & Urban Design has earned a top 6 ranking in the study.
